Facial Guide

How to Choose the Right Facial at North Florida Microblading

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by facial names, you’re not alone. Most clients know how they want their skin to feel or what they want to fix, but that doesn’t always translate into knowing which facial to book.

This guide is here to help you connect the dots so you can book confidently, without guessing.

Start Here: What Are You Looking For?

If You Want Relaxation + Stress Relief

These facials focus on calming the nervous system, reducing tension, and restoring balance to the skin.

Best options:

Great if you feel overwhelmed, burnt out, or want your facial to feel like an experience, not just a treatment.

If You’re Dealing With Acne or Congestion

These facials prioritize deep cleansing, safe extractions, inflammation control, and skin barrier support.

Best options:

These are ideal if you’re struggling with breakouts, clogged pores, or recurring congestion and want a plan, not a quick fix.

If Anti-Aging, Firming, or Collagen Is Your Goal

These treatments support elasticity, firmness, circulation, and long-term skin health.

Best options:

Perfect if you’re noticing fine lines, loss of firmness, or want to “get ahead” of visible aging without injections.

If You Want Glow, Smooth Texture, or Better Makeup Application

These facials focus on exfoliation, resurfacing, and instant skin refinement.

Best options:

Ideal before photos, events, or if your skin feels dull, rough, or uneven.

If Healing, Repair, or Scarring Is the Priority

These treatments support skin regeneration, barrier repair, and long-term improvement.

Best options:

Best for acne scarring, texture irregularities, or skin that needs deeper repair.

Not Sure? That’s Normal.

If more than one category sounds like you, that’s okay. Many facials are customized and can overlap in benefits. If you’re ever unsure, booking a consultation or your first facial allows us to assess your skin and guide you toward what will work best for you long-term.

Event Prep Timeline

If you’re preparing for a wedding, photoshoot, vacation, or special event, planning ahead is key. This prevents surprises like breakouts or sensitivity right before your big day. Some like to start 6 months before... especially those dealing with stubborn acne, but most can use this general timeline. Your esthetician will customize your event prep timeline depending on your starting point and goals.

8–12 Weeks Before

  • Start with a corrective or foundational facial (acne, texture, or hydration focused)

  • Consider microneedling if treating scarring or texture

  • Begin a consistent skincare routine

4–6 Weeks Before

  • Second facial to refine results and adjust based on how your skin responded

  • Lash lift and tint if desired

  • Body treatments like body wrap or back facial if needed

7–10 Days Before

  • Glow-focused facial (Hydrofacial, Glass Skin, Dermaplaning)

  • Avoid aggressive treatments for the first time at this stage

1–3 Days Before

  • Hydrating, calming treatments only

  • No new or corrective services

This approach removes guesswork and allows your skin to look its best because it’s been supported, not rushed.

A Note on Safety and Skin Health

Facials are customized based on your skin history, sensitivity, and goals. Some treatments may not be appropriate if you have:

  • active inflamed acne

  • sunburn or broken skin

  • certain medical conditions or medications

If a facial isn’t suitable, it will be adjusted or an alternative will be recommended. Skin health always comes first.

Microneedling: What to Know

Microneedling is one of the most researched treatments in aesthetics and is excellent for scarring, collagen stimulation, and skin renewal.

What most clients experience:

  • Day 1: redness similar to a sunburn

  • Day 2: pink tone, possible tightness

  • Day 3+: skin calms, light flaking may occur

Healing varies by depth and skin type. Makeup is usually resumed within 24 hours, and results improve over several weeks as collagen rebuilds.

This is why microneedling is not recommended right before events unless done well in advance.

First Facial? You’re in the Right Place.

Many clients start here with little to no skincare experience. You do not need to “know skincare” to book a facial.

Your appointment includes:

  • consultation and skin assessment

  • explanation of what’s being done and why

  • customization based on comfort and goals

Still Unsure Which Facial Is Right for You?

That’s okay. The goal of this guide is clarity, not pressure.
